Honestly...

Ok, so I have an 18 year old, yes I did say 18, that can't just smile for a picture. He is always sticking out his tounge, acting tough, talking, closing his eyes or doing something weird. I always have to take 2 pictures of him so I can get a normal one...then he gets mad at me because I am taking too many pictures. Honestly...it's a good thing I love him and that he is cute or...well, that's all I will say.

And the answer is.....

Ok...before I tell you, Jordan got asked a few days later by Mykell Hass to the Sweethearts dance also.

So...two girls, two treats...ONE ANSWER!! How convenient huh....Well, the answer is...

They are getting a gallon or whatever size it is, of Sherbet ice cream...and the saying...You "Sher - bet" I'll go to the dance with you". Kind of silly and lame, but it's done and that's all that matters. (Does everyone get it?)

P.S. Alaina, I loved your ideas and will keep those for the next time...we had all ready come up with this when I read your comments.

P.S.S. Beth, are you crazy...me making a tickle me Elmo cake...cute idea but not happening in this household....they are lucky to get dinner. LOL.

Tickled Pink!!

Matt got asked to his first high school dance this past Tuesday. (He has been 16 since Sept. but wouldn't go to the others). Taylor Jolly asked if she could decorate Matt's room. She is even a junior...Go Matt!! It was really cute with her..."I'd be tickled pink if you went to sweethearts with me" poster, crepe paper, confetti all over the floor, balloons and candy. She decorated his room while he was at his game (Jordan let her in) and when he came home from the games it took him FOREVER to go upstairs...but when he did he was really suprised and happy. I laugh that his sweats from basketball blend into his wall color. Now, if he can just figure out a way to answer her...any suggestions?

Sunday Night Ritual

Every Sunday night we have been having cherry turnovers and orange julius. This has become such a fun tradition and we all look forward to our yummy Sunday treats. (Of course not the pounds it puts on Mom and Dad...but that is the sacrifice we are willing to make...LOL) Notice that we all get three turnovers. The first couple of times I made them I realized the package only had 6. Well, we would all fight over who gets the extra two...so now 2 packages are bought and we all get 3 and are happy as can be!!

Happy Birthday Hunsaker Clan

Today is Larry's birthday!! Happy Birthday to my sweetie. This past Sunday we went to a Hunsaker family birthday party for Betty (age 70), Rob (37), Bobbi (13) and Larry (47). (Ok, be mad at me for putting your ages but someday when we look back we will want to know how old everyone turned). They all have a birthday within a week of each other, so it was fun to get together and celebrate with one big party!!

How cool is Matt...

I love this picture of Matt in his basketball game!! What can I say but WOW...what a cool picture of a cool kid!!

I have a photographer who has instantly become my friend (or I should say I have instantly become his) because he knows I am a sucker for good pictures of my boys playing sports. Needless to say he has made a fortune off of me between football and basketball games. I feel so lucky to have him get such great shots of them playing...I could never capture something like that on my own.

Wii did it!!

Wii have so much fun with the Wii fit Wii got for Christmas. The hula hoop on the Wii fit has to be the funniest to watch and do.Even Larry's nephews got into the action. What Wii are the most excited about is that Wii have been wanting to learn how to make a collage and Wii did it. Yea!! Ok...so Wii are being dorky with the word Wii but heh Wii need to have a little fun in life right!!

I STINK at this...

Ok so I was trying to change my background and I can't...WHY? Cause I stink at this!! I lost my gratitude list in the process...but I AM grateful it wasn't to long and I remembered most of it. (Maybe the words changed a little). I also lost my family and friend list. I thought I had backed all this up but NO I guess I did it wrong. Goodness...why do computers have to be so complicated and my brain has to be so stupid.

Enjoy the journey

In church sunday we had a Relief Society lesson on Enjoying the Journey. This is actually our theme for this next year. We have a very talented lady who wrote a beautiful song for us. I actually had to sing it with some ladies (I know VERY scary but I sang quiet so I wouldn't ruin it...) Anyway, I love the words to it and wanted to share them with you. Sorry if it is a little long...

Enjoy the Journey

Have you ever tried to dance with a butterfly?
Or watched the flowers grow?
Have you ever sent a wish on a shooting star?
Or carved angels in the snow?

And over come a mountain
To smile a-mist the rain
Is there joy in your journey on the earth?
'till we live with him again.

Do you bask in the light of the gospel?
And plant seed in righteous sod?
Do you celebrate the wonders of his hand?
As you hold a child of God.

The journey of your spirit
With Christ it cannot fail
Is there joy in your footsteps back to him?
By faith your joy prevails.

And when it's my turn to walk with Christ
I will thank him for my life

Have you ever heard the song of a hummingbird
Or blown kisses in the wind
Do you hear heavens music in your soul?
Oh let the joy begin!

Enjoy the journey onward
May love and peace abound
Do you hold sacred moments in your heart?
That's where the joy is found!

Enjoy the journey in all that comes your way
For there may not be tomorrow
Let's relish life today!

So....my challenge to each of you and to myself is to "Enjoy the Journey" that we are given today no matter how hard or challenging that may be.

Measuring Up

Ever since the boys were little I have measured their height on the pantry door. Mom used to measure me growing up and I love the tradition. I usually measure them every year on their birthday and sometimes half way through the year. Well this year I forgot until about a week ago...so today while in the shower I finally remembered and they were both home (thus the curlers in my hair). So..I went to measure the boys and for the first time ever I had to stand on a chair. What is up with that!! Jordan is just a little bit taller than Matt right now but Matt is taller than Jordan was at 16.

Of course we couldn't leave coco or cocoa (we still can't decide on a spelling) out of the measuring. Too cute huh!!

Thanks Carrie!!

I am thankful for an awesome niece with great suggestions!! So, my gratitude list will be posted on the side of my blogs thanks to Carrie's suggestion. I was really trying to figure out the best place to list them so I LOVE the idea and was even able to figure it how to do it all by myself. LOL. I am still learning on all this and my blogs aren't up to par like Carrie and Cali's but maybe someday...until then they can be my roll models.

Goals

Ok, so I have really been thinking about goals that I need to set this year. It has actually been eating at me more than normal. I won't say resolutions because those are things I just don't keep...but a goal I can maybe work at and not feel guilty or discouraged when I don't accomplish it. Some of the goals for 2009 are:

1. Write in a journal more (thus the blog and another simple journal I am keeping)
2. Keep up on scrapbooking more do at least one or two pages a month...more is a bonus)
3. Do my dishes more...I am good at leaving them until the next morning and it drives me crazy.
4. Be a nicer person...do extra for those around me...give compliments...etc...
5. Exercise...ha ha ha ha...just kidding that IS NOT one...don't want to feel guilty when I don't accomplish this.
6. List at least once a day, somewhere (whether it is on my blog or journal or hanging it on my fridge) something that I am grateful for.

So...do you think I can do it...who knows...but I am going to try my hardest.

Mr. Basketball

Matt is our basketball stud!! He made the Northridge High sophomore basketball team. It is so fun to watch him play on this next level of playing field. I guess all those years of jr jazz and comp. teams payed off. Way to go Matt !!
